Karl Stattegger
Karl Stattegger (Professor) after many years of cooperation with Keil University and Adam Mickiewicz University, has transferred fully to the Institute of Geology in the Faculty of Geographical and Geological Sciences of Adam Mickiewicz University. Under the umbrella of IoG he has successfully applied for National Science Centre grant OPUS (2018/29/B/ST10/00042, start 2019 –end 2023) to undertake research on the: “Catastrophic coastal flooding at the southern Baltic Sea coast in the late Holocene.”, which is the full title of the CatFlood project. Karl, as the principal investigator and the leader of the project organizes and takes part in all of the fieldwork and majority of laboratory work. His expertise contributes mainly within the topics associated with the sediment descriptions, heavy minerals analysis, geochemistry. Together with Karolina Leszczyńska, he is one of the leading authors of all the resulting publications.
Karolina Leszczynska

Karolin Leszczyńska (PhD) after completing the PhD in the Department of Geography, University of Cambridge, has joined the CatFlood project team at the beginning, in February 2019. Since then she is organizing and actively taking part in all the field and majority of laboratory work. Her contribution centres on physical description of sediments, which includes granulometry, micromorpholog and geochemistry. Together with Karl Stattegger she is one of the leading authors of all resultant papers.

Witek Szczucinski

Witold Szczuciński (Professor UAM) being employed at the Institute of Geology in the Faculty of Geographical and Geological Sciences of Adam Mickiewicz University for many years and being the Head of the Geohazards Research Unit he has great experience in coastal flooding events sedimentary archives. He contributes to the project with his expertise in geochronology, mainly 210Pb/137Cs and age-depth modelling of radiocarbon ages.

Robert Jagodzinski

Robert Jagodziński (PhD) as a member of Geohazards Research Unit and employee of the Institute of Geology in the Faculty of Geographical and Geological Sciences of Adam Mickiewicz University, he is an expert on heavy minerals analysis. He also supports the project with his longstanding experience in organization of field and laboratory work.

Damian Moskalewicz (PhD) having accomplished his PhD on historical storm deposits at the Polish Baltic Sea coast under the umbrella of Geohazards Research Unit in the Institute of Geology in the Faculty of Geographical and Geological Sciences of Adam Mickiewicz University, he has moved to Gdańsk, to continue his academic career in the Gdańsk University. He supports the CatFlood project team with his expertise on spatial distribution of coastal flooding deposits as well as their physial characteristics.
